Bizzone uses a variety of initiatives to encourage business owners across New Zealand to look at their social and environmental responsibilities from reducing waste and reducing consumption to raising awareness of the significant business opportunities and commercial value of becoming a sustainable business.
- In 2008 Bizzone partnered with Green Event to make the annual expo a more environmentally sustainable event. A number of waste reduction, energy efficiency and smart travel initiatives were implemented in 2008 and 2009 and have yielded measurable and positive environmental change.
- In 2010, Bizzone will be working with venues, suppliers and participants to make the event New Zealand’s first verified Green Event.
- The Business Expos were carboNZero certified in 2008 and 2009. Carbon emissions have been offset by purchasing carbon credits from landfill gas, windpower and native regeneration forestry projects.
- An extensive national communications campaign advises expo exhibitors and attendees how to manage their waste and transport
- Biodegradable or recyclable materials are used in our extensive marketing campaign
- Bizzone staff follow our team sustainability guidelines in all instances
- Expert speakers, mentors and services are available at the Business Expos to provide realistic steps for the Expo attendee to integrate sustainable strategies into their normal business practices
- Bizzone Business Magazine printed on 100% recycled paper or paper from managed forests using vegetable based inks in a chlorine free process
