I have been part of the Instep team for the past 8 years and have most enjoyed developing new initiatives that aim to increase the wellbeing of employees from a wide range of industries throughout New Zealand. This includes consultation and training.
My background as a psychologist and manager in the addiction treatment field has reinforced my belief in the resiliency of people and in their ability to make positive changes in their lives irrespective of the challenges and obstacles they may face.

Like my colleagues above, I am also a member of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association....

I grew up in Auckland and Wellington and my early formative years were a mix of university and the Army. Both of these organisations taught me about the psychology of work, leadership and using the resources around you to effect solutions. My Kiwi values of ‘firm, fair and friendly’ ensured that many doors remained open and our participation sought. Later, overseas study taught me the value of methodical approaches to negotiation and human resource consultancy and it was on this basis that I saw opportunity in New Zealand and founded Instep in 1998.
I believe that everyone has the potential to positively contribute to workplace goals, aspirations and targets – some, though, just need to have it drawn from them. I have often found myself in an environment where one side is being manipulated towards an outcome and I have found ‘doing the right thing’ irresistible! One of my other passions...
